She Said “It Was All Yellow”

I don’t mean to live my entire life through song lyrics, but Coldplay lyrics felt like a whole lot of perfect for these hot shoes.

These major yellow leather sandals from Casadei feature a round open toe, a t-bar front, an ankle strap with a side buckle closure and a wedge heel. At 6.2 inches, these Summer-loving babies are no joke.

She Said “Embellished”

When thinking about “embellishments”, the items which usually comes to mind include jewels, tassels, beading, or feathers.

I feel that calling Alexander McQueen’s wedges (seen here) “embellished” nearly sounds commonplace; much too normal to give justice to this voluptuous heel. With gold, black, and silver crystal stones wrapping around your ankles and freshly manicured toes, you will dazzle even the most determined Scrooge over the holiday season. Like wearing jewellery on your feet, the curved heel measures 5.3 inches and acts as a statement for the avant-garde. This season, there aren’t many other shoes that offer such elegance, in reality, when seeming so simple at first glance.

She Said “Marni Blocked”

As you know, colour-blocking is one of my favorite trends of the past few seasons.

I adore it even more so when it is done in a fresh way. These Marni wedges are slightly boyish with touches of girly flare. The upper is orange, taupe, black and forest-green leather, creating a lovely autumn look. The wedge heel measures 5.5-inches and the platform is 2.5-inches. The perforated crossover detail at the top with the brown laces reminds me of a boat shoe, but twenty times more chic. Wear these with a chunky sweater dress and a statement necklace. Get funky with your stylish selves, darlings.

She Said “Tea Time with Suno”

Wedges are most certainly my cup of tea, mes chèrs. Pourquoi?

Simply, wedges are the complete package. They give you height and comfort. And these Loeffler Randall “Estrella” platforms from the SUNO collaboration are no different. The wooden wedge measures approximately 5.5-inches and the platform with leather sole measures around 2.2-inches. These wedges are stacked, and I have to say I am crazy about the satin upper. Though I questioned the look at first, the finely-detailed abstract floral print is ‘cool, calm and collected’ (in the blue colour story), and reminiscent of my grandmother’s tea sets. Whether you’re at brunch, afternoon tea, or work, these wedges will stay classy (…San Diego).

She Said “Robyn”

Take your look from plain to radiant by putting on these tan Robyn suede shoes by Yves Saint Laurent.

The gold and silver pleated leather wedge and platform take this shoe up a notch – goddess level. It’s simply my favorite part of this wedge. The pleats turn this wedge into a lightweight-looking shoe, like you’re walking on a cloud. The tan suede is beautiful for daywear. It also comes in black suede, which takes this shoe to a more contemporary level and perfect for nighttime soirees. The perforated detail is simply sweet when added with the ankle strap and peep-toe. The wedge measures 5.5 inches and the platform comes in at 1.2 inches. This is one fabulous wedge to brighten even the cloudiest day.

She Said “Mega Woman”

Mega Man might fight for justice and have a snappy blue suit, but it’s the ladies that get to have all the fun.

The Haus of Price Mega Bootie 2 (Atlantis) contains all the glorious girly fun you had as a child, but contained in a grown-up shoe. Each shoe is handmade so each pair looks just a little bit different than the other. It is as if the shoe was made just for you! There is a 5-inch heel and 1.5-inch platform also covered in the faux jewels. A side zipper allows easy foot access. The peep toe and open back provide a sexier version of the first Mega Bootie. What a statement piece. Put on your LBD’s ladies and remember to keep it simple. A shoe like this is all you need to receive coveted glances and envious stares. Proof as to why it is so much fun to be a girl.

She Said “Whisttle”

The Steve Madden “Whisttle” wedge is bright, funky, and chic.

Slide your feet into these wanton shoes for a fabulous wedge experience. There is a side zipper for easy foot access and a lovely padded insole for those long workdays. It has a beautiful suede upper for that classic look and a peep toe to give your tootsies some air before you have to shield them from extremely cold weather. The heel measures approximately 5 inches and the platform comes in at 1.5 inches. The print on this wedge is all I need. It is daring and bold, but still comes off as lovely and a tad girly. Whisttle while you work, darlings.

She Said “Ursule”

Okay, these Robert Clergerie for Carven, “Ursule” leather wedge loafers could take the trophy for most boring shoe.

But I’m going on their defense, as I beg to differ. The 60’s Mod style is coming back in full swing and, mes chèrs, you are going to need the shoes to match your houndstooth dresses. The versatility of these wedges is astounding. Wear them with whatever fits your mood! The heel measures a practical 4 inches with the platform coming in at 1.5 inches. Easygoing for the person in a hurry (you can just slip them on!), but a better statement than your average flat. The scalloped trim is subtle and pretty. The wedge loafers are a chic spin on a classic fit. Every closet should have these sitting on its shelf.

She Said “Python”

While I have a fear of our slithery comrades, I do adore a python shoe or handbag.

These Reed Krakoff python wedge boots are on my wish list. The iridescent taupe hue and design make these boots the perfect statement piece. With a 5-inch heel and 1-inch platform, you can easily tower and shine over every person in the room. The wedge is also python, making the leg line appear longer (and sexier!). The laces wrap around the boot giving it a little extra texture so the boot becomes slightly more edgy. Since python is mostly neutral, you can wear it with any colour you desire or even just stick to a more neutral palette.

She Said “Curvy Reds”

Like I mentioned on my fashion blog, I am a little bit obsessed with a new shopping find: Farfetch.

Though it – on paper – is simply a website with great designer choices to shop from, the Cool Factor runs much deeper. The point of Farfetch is the worldwide availability of over 1000 of the best designers that you can cart in one online community and have delivered absolutely anywhere in the world.

As a huge Alexander McQueen fan, one of the first things I searched for on the site was Alexander McQueen shoes. And boy, did I find some. From the US, to London, to Paris, Farfetch had some of the best footwear choices from McQueen’s HBIC fashion designer, Sarah Burton, available anywhere.

Take these curved red velour wedges with peep toe, ankle strap, gold tone buckle, and 5.5″ heel (with a 1″ platform!). Great design and great colour are always worth your time. In China, red is the color of prosperity and joy. Red roses symbolize passionate love. Red is also the color of passion. Then now I’ve seen these heels? Red is the colour of the week.

It may be a long aesthetic stretch from Kate Middleton’s wedding dress, but Sarah Burton shows absolutely no sign of slowing down. Love love love.
