She Said “Iridia”

If you were ever looking for an excuse to wear heels on the beach, I think I have found the best version around.

Presenting…Fendi‘s Iridia sandals. The Italian designer’s multi-panelled front is a blend of orange, pink, red, and clear PVC, all leading to a white patent leather slingback stiletto heel (and buckle, to boot). Ombre never looked so good.

She Said “Darcy”

Animal print has always been a delicate subject, for me. While most prints channel ‘Real Housewives’-level desperation, animal print works beautifully on the right shoe.

Take, for example, the Darcy heels from Nicholas. Done simply in black and white leopard print, these chunky 4.5-inch cow skin heels look as sleek as animal print possibly could.

She Said “Scalloped Sale”

Just in time for Spring, these suede scalloped-edge sandals from Lanvin have hit the 50% off sale at Matches.

If the scallop-cut details aren’t enough, these pink espadrille wedges will win any vintage fashion lover‘s heart with their adorable side buckle fastenings and suede uppers.

First Look: The Captain America Winter Soldier Shoe

For all my fellow girl geeks out there, I present the first look at Julian Hakes’ Captain America: The Winter Soldier shoe.

Having earned Vogue’s ‘Accessories Designer’ award after creating shoes for Marvel’s Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World, Hakes has gone on to create this aluminium ‘star heel‘* – inspired by Captain America and the Black Widow – in time for the film’s launch.

“This latest collaboration with Marvel for Captain America: The Winter Soldier was the perfect opportunity to create a brand new and unique shoe style. I wanted to create a fusion between traditional footwear and the high tech modern world. In Captain America: The Winter Soldier we see Steve Rogers reunited with his S.H.I.E.L.D colleague Natasha Romanoff, the Black Widow. I therefore decided to call this new shoe style the Black Widow edition. I imagined how Natasha might wear the shoes undercover but then at a moment’s notice she could use them as an effective weapon.”

Shoe Trend: Mules

I never thought I’d blog it, but mules seem to be popular once again.

As I whipped and dashed my way from show to show over London Fashion Week AW14, the amount of mules I saw getting snapped for street style was hard to ignore. They may not be the sexiest shoe around, but these comfortable slip-on styles have a certain Celine look to them, don’t they?

Shop The Shoes:
1. Banded satin mules from Altuzarra
2. Open-toe mules from Maison Martin Margiela
3. Wedge mules from Vic Matie

She Said “Fiorenza”

Something about these heels reminds me of rose petals…and who doesn’t want rose petals on their feet, eh?

The 4-inch Fiorenza from Schutz is a wide foot’s BFF with nubuck laces starting to lace up from the toes. Sexy and functional? Count me in.

She Said “Flower Girl”

We may only just be coming into Spring, but these heels have me ready to whip out some bikinis and daquiris…like, now.

The toe box of Isaac Mizrahi‘s ‘Lillie 2‘ pumps steal the show, though the floral fabric is definitely displaying a worthy effort of its own. These shoes are the perfect mix of whimsy and sophistication.

She Said “Leilou”

A zig-a-zia-ah….please drop into my mailbox, shoes.

I can’t imagine receiving a better “Yay! It’s Monday!” Gift than this pair of leather and suede heels from Sophia Webster. Named ‘Leilou‘ (it’s even named after me!…ish), these 4-inch peep-toes are all stripes and bubblegum – even the halterneck straps.

She Said “Mmm, Mmm Good”

Maison Martin Margiela have deconstructionist design down to a fine art, don’t they?

Take these thigh-high boots, for example. Though they’re crafted in the simplest of manners – round toes, stacked heels, leather soles – the lightweight stretch shaft is a massive 30 inches tall and creates the most unique, gorgeous silhouette when paired with short dresses.

Katy Perry in Rupert Sanderson – 2014 Brit Awards

Katy Perry has a shoe wardrobe I can only dream of (I mean, hello) – and the shoe envy only got worse at last week’s 2014 BRIT Awards.

While wearing a straight-from-runway gown from Julien Macdonald’s AW14 collection (not yet released, obvs), she stepped out in a pair of steel-printed Rupert Sanderson Syra pumps from Resort 2014. What a look.
