She Said “Stoker Sale”

Joanne Stoker is just my kind of shoe designer. She does whimsy with a hard edge, ultimately creating unusual but wearable dream shoes.

When I saw her orange Lotus sandals were on sale, I knew I had to share. The raffia pumps have a square cut cork platform and heels plexiglass inserts featuring precious stone inlays. Totes amaze.

She Said “Maiden Voyage”

Ahoy, matey.

Have I caught you looking for a shoe that will sink the competition*? Look no further than Charlotte Olympia‘s incredible Maiden Voyage wedges. With over 6 inches of wooden heel (and hand-painted waves!) to walk the plank on, I am in no position to guarantee safety to you. I can, however, guarantee the coolest pegs across the seven seas.

* Bad puns so very much intended.

Jessica Alba in Fendi – InStyle February 2013

Does anyone else feel like it has been an absolutely eternity since seeing Jessica Alba in a fashion spread? I’ve missed this beautiful lady!

As you could conclude, Mrs Alba is the cover star of February 2013′s issue of InStyle US. In Fendi colorblock sandals (currently available in black). Winning. These heels are from Fendi’s S/S13 collection – a collaboration with Nicholas Kirkwood – and have layers of lizard print leather to balance a fully studded heel.

Additional props include a S/S13 floral dress from Marni, a Delfina Delettrez Infinity rubber choker, Infinity gold plated necklace, and her two daughters. (I kid, I kid.)

She Said “Pilot”

These Pilot‘ platforms by ASOS Collection may not be your favourite type of pilot, but they are certainly some sexy competition.

With a low cut vamp, these shoes feature a textured wool-effect upper in a blurred stripe design. The 1.4-inch platform is concealed and helps you to get from A to B in an (otherwise) 5-inch chunky rose gold heel.

She Said “Snakeskin Colourblock”

Be the beholder of every eye in these B Brian Atwood snakeskin colourblock pumps. Immaculate shades of fuchsia, teal and red come together in perfect unison to create one beautiful pump.

The fuchsia snakeskin upper is amazingly cohesive with the rest of the leopard print shoe. A 5.5-inch heel is covered in teal leopard print, while the red leopard print snakeskin island platform gives another 1-inch boost. To tie the look together the pump is trimmed out in natural leopard print which also includes a leopard print sole. If you are looking for a fabulous transition-into-fall piece, look no further than this colourblock masterpiece.

She Said “Alex Fin”

The perfect statement shoe: the Terry de Havilland “Alex Fin” platforms will surely stand out against the rest.

The black suede and contrasting electric blue snake print trim provide a vibrant distinction. While the snake print alone adds a really beautiful touch, it is the snake print fin on the back of the chunky heel that truly makes this pair of platforms stand out. The fin, reminiscent of the tip of a flame, will leave others scorched in your path. The buckled ankle strap and peep toe make it an impeccable summer to autumn heel, and the 1-inch platform gives a little break to your foot in a 5-inch heel.

She Said “Doria”

If you’re looking for a way to get over your Monday blues, I’m going to have to suggest these baby blues.

These Seventies-inspired platforms from Robert Clergerie are a breath of fresh air. The shoe is crafted in a beautiful premium leather and features a chunky wedge in its continuous duck egg hue. The perfect way to have 365 days of Summer.

She Said “Rosie”

It may not be ‘Rosie the Riveter’, but there is a certain vintage sophistication about these ‘Rosie’ sandals.

Loeffler Randall had a glamorous feel in mind for these leopard-print haircalf beauties, as you can see. Bright red suede highlights a small platform and 4-inch tapered heel.

She Said “Niro”

There is something very interesting about the way a designer’s education affects their style.

These suede open-toe sandals from Jerome C. Rousseau got me thinking about it. While the overall look is very Rousseau, it could also easily be confused as a Peter Pilotto or Matthew Williamson creation! (All three designers studied at Cordwainers College). Regardless, these leather-stitched ‘Niro’ platforms make for beautiful shoes.

She Said “Kirkwood for Erdem”

Another day, another soul-exploding shoe find.

Today’s obsession comes from the talented designer minds (and one of my most anticipated designer collaborations…ever) of Nicholas Kirkwood and Erdem. You could call them leather pumps, but it wouldn’t do them justice. Not only do these 4.5 heels have beautifully printed green silk, but a geometric and mixed media-rocking block caboose. Clear and black acetate are a statement making duo, indeed.
