She Said “Knotty”

Without even being 3 inches high, these heels have me lusting for a closer look. Welcome to the fashionista’s version of flats.

Pierre Hardy‘s knotted wedge may be only 2.5 inches high, but it is a perfect way to colour-block your way to easygoing and denim-friendly chic. The knotted multi-coloured suede makes these wedges one artisan pair.

She Said “Two Tone Duel”

Welcome to our fashion police latest! This time? Two beloved designers show up examples of two-tone and colour-blocking footwear.

The offenders? Pierre Hardy with canvas and patent-leather wedge sandals, and Miu Miu with leather pumps. While the perforated trims and bright-pink panel on the latter heel are recipe for shoe infatuation, the extra half an inch (5 inches!) and platform make me swoon for the red panel, instead. Which is your favourite?

She Said “Foot Buildings”

Though I feel the collections of Balenciaga are always a complete hit or complete miss, they never seem to do me wrong when it comes to shoes.

For example, their Fall/Winter 2010 collection featured the most magnificent material-collaged block heels made from leather, wood, plastic, metal and a few new high tech materials. The collection was designed by Pierre Hardy to complement Nicolas Ghesquiere‘s ensembles and play with brogue and loafer designs like you wouldn’t believe. Some of the designs even have slip-in style that take a cue from water ski bindings. Footwear of the future!

She Said “Spot On”

I am a little bit obsessed with the fashion sense of Leighton Meester. So much so I’m about to start style-stalking her on my fashion blog (don’t judge me – I get cajoled to do this exact thing).

Leighton regularly wows us with her style on as Blair Waldorf on Gossip Girl, but her personal style is even better. She has the most exciting taste in footwear (or, well, her stylist does). Shown here at the latest Herbal Essences event in Madrid wearing a LBD by Versus, the colour and attention is focused mainly on her £765 Pierre Hardy heeled sandals. It’s a bit peacock, a bit spotty, a bit gem-toned and a bit perfect.

She Said “Under 25″

Sometimes exclusivity drives us to do crazy things (shoutout to you, Lanvin for H&M shoppers queueing overnight in freezing weather!)

One of those crazy things might be buying these. Just 24 pairs of these $1,418 Pierre Hardy heels exist in this big wide world, and one pair is on Lane Crawford fashion director Sarah Rutson‘s Christmas list. Style.com asked a few of their favorite fashion friends – including my adored duo of Rachel Zoe and Anna Dello Russo – to detail their longed-for Christmas presents, and the results are appropriately crazy. For example, Dello Russo wants a Versace gown “as green as a Christmas tree” and Zoe is wishing for a blacked-out Tesla Roadster. Not to say I’d turn either down.
