She Said “Sexiest Shoe”

As if we shoe lovers needed any convincing of the brand’s sex status, Christian Louboutin has once again created a masterpiece which has earned the title of ‘Sexiest Shoe‘.

In Footwear News and Saks Fifth Avenue’s third annual competition, online voters chose Christian Louboutin as their Sexiest Shoe. The shoe, in particular? These red Pigalle 100 spiked patent-leather pumps.

Finalists included Manolo Blahnik, Christian Dior, Nicholas Kirkwood, Gucci, Tabitha Simmons, and more. Second place went to a pair of burgundy Stuart Weitzman pumps with a metallic stiletto, third went to a pair of black suede sandals by Jimmy Choo, and number four went to a pair of studded over the knee boots by B Brian Atwood.

She Said “Primavera”

The Olympics are almost over. It’s about time I found some heels with interlocking rings.

Oscar de la Renta has gone for the gold (puns ahoy!) with his Primavera‘ booties. These 4.5-inch suede and pointed-toe shoes are embellished with a cutout patent-leather cuff of rings, making them perfect for the Closing Ceremony…and any occasion where you would like strange tan lines.

She Said “Sherbet”

While the weather refuses to be as warm as we would like it to be, that does not mean our newest shoes have to follow suit.

Think “Spring” in these Versus décolleté patent-leather and mesh pumps. Let the pastel colour remind you of simpler times (such as choosing your favourite flavor from the ice cream shoppe). With scoops of bubblegum, lemon and cotton-candy blue hues, this pump is a delicious treat. A five-inch heel and 1-inch platform provide the perfect boost not only for more height, but also to keep a smile on your face. The zipper detail on the back provides a fresh look to buckles. Go ahead and take a bite.

She Said “Skovgaard”

Stop your drooling, I said Skovgaard, not Skarsgaard.

These Camilla Skovgaard check peeptoe platforms are just as awe-inspiring to look at, anyway! These platforms have a beautiful burgundy and black suede upper with teeny tiny checks running through. The back is black patent leather offsetting the burgundy tones. What is different about this heel and makes it intriguing is the platform. Usually platforms are molded into the sole and hidden, but this platform stands out among the rest! It even has little checks etched in as well. The buckle adds a little flare to an otherwise basic heel. The heel measures nearly 6 inches and the platform comes in at 1.5 inches. That would make me average! But only in height because there is nothing average about these Swedish sweet heels.

She Said “Morwenna”

One of the best trends of 2011? That would be colorblocking. Who doesn’t love several colors mixed together that don’t necessarily match, but go?

Charlotte Olympia’s “Morwenna” colorblock Pump is the perfect example of what colorblocking should be. This silk satin pump with patent leather covered platform and satin-covered stiletto heel is a showstopper. The patent leather trim throughout the pump winds its way around the ankle in a strap with a buckle close. The ankle strap takes this shoe up a notch, making them killer yet dainty. The heel measures approximately 5.5 inches with the platform around 1.5 inches. The Morwenna pumps are a great way to add spice to a neutral outfit or to tie a perfectly colorful outfit together.

She Said “Golden”

Full speed ahead with some wedges love! Anyone ready for some Yves Saint Laurent genius?

Here you go! New for the season – black suede, gold leather trims, and patent leather wedge heel. How could you possibly want more? I am obsessed with the robo-tronic feel of the cutout sides, split front and heavy metallic aesthetic. They are absolutely Fashion Week Ready.

She Said “Kosi”

I really wish Jessica Simpson could be a less talented shoe designer. One flashback to the days of Newlyweds and all I can think of is buffalo wings.

Until I look down to my shoes, that is. The chilli pepper-coloured Kosis are a great example. With a 5-inch patent leather heel and a generous platform, they work strappy sandal sex appeal without the stiletto pain. The perfect way to femme up some jeans, and they’re on sale!

She Said “All The Right Curves”

If there is a sole (geddit?) designer that creates for a woman who keeps her heels on when everything else is off, it’s Walter Steiger.

CASE IN POINT: the Steiger “Muse” heel is a patent leather platform, and the sexiest shoe I’ve seen all year. The ultra-curved shape is also a favourite of Nicki Minaj (who has a shoe closet I dream of), and Michelle Trachtenberg – both seen in pink shades of the shoe – below!

She Said “Lace Up”

Sometimes two of my favourite types of heels run the risk of becoming very…prostitutional (trademark moi). Said shoes are a) lace ups and b) knee highs.

Somehow, these Versace sandals combine the two yet stay on the right side of ‘sex worker’. These black leather platform sandals even have a 5.5 inch heel and 1.5 inch platform. On shelf, this should land them next to the stripper heels, no? Thankfully, the designer brains have added some luxe silver hardware, a black waxed-cotton cord lace-up front and a patent-leather wrapped pin-point heel that keeps it all quite chic. Nicely played.
