She Said “Niro”

There is something very interesting about the way a designer’s education affects their style.

These suede open-toe sandals from Jerome C. Rousseau got me thinking about it. While the overall look is very Rousseau, it could also easily be confused as a Peter Pilotto or Matthew Williamson creation! (All three designers studied at Cordwainers College). Regardless, these leather-stitched ‘Niro’ platforms make for beautiful shoes.

She Said Alceste

Of all the terrible things to happen to a shoe lover, cutting up the back of your feet ranks very high.

Which is why I’ve spent the past hour looking at impossibly high heels in lust. The top of today’s list? These Rupert Sanderson multicoloured Alceste heels. Next to white leather laces, candy-coloured polished leather platform heels (at 5.25 inches) are the perfect sweet treat.

She Said “Shoes for £10?”

I smell a conspiracy. After sitting down to do my daily (ahem hourly) online shoe browsing, I found…these.

I found these criss cross cork wedge sandals TEN POUNDS. That’s British Pound Sterling. That’s a WTF-moment. (Can you tell I like cheap shoes?) The “Atlas” bargains by Soda are pure snake print, colourblocking leatherette goodness that come in 4 colours (the white version is my favourite).

She Said “Naina”

Under £100 for designer-quality shoes? I’ll take ten, please and thank you.

These babies have the kind of design that make matchy-matchy look chic. With some lightweight nude trousers and a simple blue tank, you have an effortless summer look. Would you believe these “Naina” 5 and a half inch heels are made by Bebe? Serious. Man made leather upper with cork vamp, heel cup and a 1 inch platform. Perfection.

She Said “Cork It”

Though Herve Leger is world-renowned for their bandage dresses, their heels certainly deserve some attention.

Por ejemplo, the brand’s suede and cork ankle boots seen above and below. They are architectural love with a 5 and a half inch heel made from cork, and a taupe cracked suede upper. It is rare for studs like the ones along the cut-out side partition to look more chic than freak. It’s the small details that make this wonderful bootie.
