She Said “Holiday Help”

With all the shoes wandering around in this world, sometimes a woman needs some help choosing what to wear for the holidays.

Refinery29 has offered a helping hand and posted an article with their opinions on the 12 best holiday pumps this season. They include shoes for all – budget conscious or nonconscious – fashionistas, with brands from Forever 21 to Aldo to Christian Louboutin. Whether or not you actually buy the shoes Refinery29 suggests, it is a great place to get ideas. The shoes included come with a required dose of sparkles, sequins, studs, and pops of colour. That special little black dress waiting in your closet will become even more amazing once the right shoe is paired with it.

She Said “Lamia”

Sometimes, seeing nude heels make my (unfortunately tiny) legs look like stilts makes me want to live in them.

But we all know I’m a colour girl. These Beatrix Ong heels offer me a playful middle. City-chic camel and turquoise contrasting leather sandals can do no wrong. 5-inches high with a platform, the straps have crossed arches and there is a circular self-tie detail at the open toe. Pretty much perfect!

She Said “Citron”

How about we take a second to inject some colour into your shoe wardrobe, eh?

The folks at Diane von Furstenberg have whipped up these citron-coloured, suede mules and called them “Eva“. With a satin ankle wrap and 5-inch heel they may not be your ‘daywear’ shoe choice, but they are perfect for some steamy Summer nights.

She Said “Elle Woods”

I’ve said it once, twice, three times (a lady). I’ll say it again: a simple shift in colour can make all the difference in a shoe.

When I first saw these crocodile effect mary janes, I saw them in black, and was completely underwhelmed. The ‘whelm’ then transitioned to shock when I found out they were Vivienne Westwood Anglomania for Melissa. I am usually a relentless supporter for Westwood. Thank goodness they came out with this Elle Woods-looking candy pink version. The high shine finish, concealed platform sole, and heart shaped pin buckle fastening on the strap are perfect for an ambitious blonde (fake or real).

She Said “Christian Dior”

One of my favourite shows from Spring/Summer 2011 was Christian Dior.

This included the Dior heels. While I am in no way fans of flats, I even found the cut-out ballerina flats remotely cute. Of course, the feathers, raffia design, rope straps, and sateen straps are the features I’m really paying attention to. It’s a mass of colour made for red carpets.
