She Said “Jazmyn”

In addition to flourishing my musical teenagehood, I have to give Gwen Stefani some additional props for bringing these sandals into my life.

Her label L.A.M.B. has released these sexy Jazmyn sport sandals into the shoemosphere, bringing colourblocking to a whole new level. The 4.5-inch sky blue stiletto heels feature snakeskin and perforated leather alongside patent piping accents on the straps. Buckle ‘em up, babes.

Leslie Mann in Jimmy Choo – 2013 Critics’ Choice Awards

Head-to-toe pink may feel like a bit too much at first but if you’re going for a super girly ensemble like Leslie Mann, we say go big or go home!

Mrs Mann recently wore these gorgeous pink Jimmy Choo ’Fitch‘ sandals (from Spring/Summer 2013 and topped with glitter) to the 2013 Critics’ Choice Awards. The heels are also available in black and ‘nude’, but there was obviously no better option than pink to match Leslie’s orchid print dress by Honor.

Katy Perry in Jimmy Choo – President Barack Obama’s Ceremonial Inauguration

Yesterday’s 57th Presidential Inaugural Address in Washington DC brought out a rather large number of celebrities. As the title suggests, this included the gorgeous Katy Perry in a pair of Jimmy Choo ‘Titan’ boots.

Seen here alongside John Mayer, the singer paired the boots with an orange and black woven coat from Rodarte Autumn/Winter 2012 alongside a collared rust and black-sequined tulle dress from the same collection and a Christian Louboutin ‘Farida’ handbag.

Jessica Alba in Fendi – InStyle February 2013

Does anyone else feel like it has been an absolutely eternity since seeing Jessica Alba in a fashion spread? I’ve missed this beautiful lady!

As you could conclude, Mrs Alba is the cover star of February 2013′s issue of InStyle US. In Fendi colorblock sandals (currently available in black). Winning. These heels are from Fendi’s S/S13 collection – a collaboration with Nicholas Kirkwood – and have layers of lizard print leather to balance a fully studded heel.

Additional props include a S/S13 floral dress from Marni, a Delfina Delettrez Infinity rubber choker, Infinity gold plated necklace, and her two daughters. (I kid, I kid.)

Emma Watson in Manolo Blahnik – Marie Claire February 2013

Though Emma Watson‘s February 2013 cover of Marie Claire UK had no shoe goodness to devour, the inside pages were a whole different story.

In fact, I fell for the spread much faster than I did the cover! This photo, in particular, featured my long-lusted pair of glitter BB pumps by Manolo Blahnik and paired them with a gorgeous quilted leather jacket with studs by IRO. Glitter and studs never seemed so right.

Jessica Chastain in Brian Atwood – 2013 Golden Globes

Jessica Chastain knocked it out of the park at last night’s Golden Globes as the recipient of the ‘Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama’ award.

In fact, there was a lot of love for her red carpet ensemble, as well. With that fiery mane, you can’t go wrong with a pale custom Calvin Klein Collection seafoam halter dress and $3 million worth of Harry Winston diamonds. Though we couldn’t see her heels, her stylist informed us that she was wearing these nude Brian Atwood ‘Alesha’ peep-toe platform pumps (click to buy!). An odd choice if we were able to see them, but a perfect choice for someone who needs some extra height under a full-length gown. The Aleshas offer 6 and a half inches of extra height thanks to a three-inch platform.

Solange Knowles in Bottega Veneta – Girls Season 2 Premiere

If there is one pair of shoes that would work with virtually any printed ensemble, it would be these Bottega Veneta sandals from Spring/Summer 2012.

In fact, Solange Knowles decided to wear the strappy leather beauties to the Season 2 premiere of ‘Girls’ in good ol’ New York City. The two-tone black and white straps may not be as eye-catching as her geometric print suit from Just Cavalli’s Pre-Fall 2013 collection, but they work as the perfect compliment.

Lea Michele in Elie Saab – People’s Choice Awards 2013

Last night’s People’s Choice Awards were an all-round smash hit when it came to red carpet style, but the real standout shoe for me took the form of Lea Michele‘s gorgeous Elie Saab sandals (currently online only in blue – but on sale!).

These heels are actually from Saab’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection but happen to be the perfect accomplice to the rest of her latest-season super-fuschia ensemble: an Elie Saab cocktail dress and Anita Ko jewels. It only seems right to win the Best Comedic Actress award while wearing pink leather, gold patent leather, and major bling.

She Said ‘Linford’

Floral heels may feel a little whimsical for January, but there is nothing like being prepared for Spring/Summer, is there?

(#shoppingexcuse, you’re welcome.)

These Brian Atwood heels are the prettiest kind of preparation, featuring a lush floral print and suede laces. The Linford ankle boots (some retailers are listing them as the ‘Lindford’) have a satin upper, adjustable ankle strap, leather lining, and a sharp stilettos heel of four-and-a-half-inches.

She Said ‘Plexi Perfection’

While ‘nude’-coloured heels are praised all around Fashiontopia for their leg-lengthening benefits, nothing can get them as universally ‘nude’ as being completely see-through.

These Valentino Naked Rockstud wedges are the best way to do so, in my opinion. These four-inch heels are constructed from a comfortable plexiglass wedge heel adored with Swarovski crystals. While the sole and insole are leather, even the slingback strap is made from transparent PVC. Bella.
