She Said “Mmm, Mmm Good”

Maison Martin Margiela have deconstructionist design down to a fine art, don’t they?

Take these thigh-high boots, for example. Though they’re crafted in the simplest of manners – round toes, stacked heels, leather soles – the lightweight stretch shaft is a massive 30 inches tall and creates the most unique, gorgeous silhouette when paired with short dresses.

She Said “Maiden Voyage”

Ahoy, matey.

Have I caught you looking for a shoe that will sink the competition*? Look no further than Charlotte Olympia‘s incredible Maiden Voyage wedges. With over 6 inches of wooden heel (and hand-painted waves!) to walk the plank on, I am in no position to guarantee safety to you. I can, however, guarantee the coolest pegs across the seven seas.

* Bad puns so very much intended.

Katy Perry in Rupert Sanderson – 2014 Brit Awards

Katy Perry has a shoe wardrobe I can only dream of (I mean, hello) – and the shoe envy only got worse at last week’s 2014 BRIT Awards.

While wearing a straight-from-runway gown from Julien Macdonald’s AW14 collection (not yet released, obvs), she stepped out in a pair of steel-printed Rupert Sanderson Syra pumps from Resort 2014. What a look.

She Said “Like a Totally Important Designer”

With the blog relaunched and my insane shoe lust rampant as ever, it was only a matter of time before I was gushing over plexiglass heels again.

LOOK AT THESE ALAIA‘S. Azzedine has done it again with a pair of woven and wonderful raffia sandals. Though the 4.5-inch square heel is the obvious highlight, the suede and leather trimmings make this heel a must-have.

Bella Thorne in Bionda Castana – 2014 Cartoon Network Hall of Game Awards

The especially gorgeous Bella Thorne chose to wear these gorgeous lemon-coloured Bionda Castana pumps – The ‘Lana – to the 2014 Cartoon Network Hall of Game Awards, recently held in LA.

I personally love that she selected to pull them in SS14′s lemon hue (as opposed to their more popular black variation) – they top off her cut-out Bec & Bridge Anemone crop top with that mint pencil skirt from Kathy perfectly.

She Said “Neon, Neon”

Taking a cult classic and throwing some neon on it? Sounds like a pretty awful idea…

…until you see the result. These 4-inch neon yellow-green leather Rockstud pumps¬†from Valentino are ‘nutha level amazing. Like the originals, each pair has its blush straps hand-embellished with pale gold pyramid studs that travel over and around the ankle.

Olivia Wilde in Tabitha Simmons – Vanity Fair Hollywood Issue 2013

Vanity Fair’s Hollywood issue is one of my annual guilty pleasures. While the 2013 edition may feature Emma Stone, Bradley Cooper and Ben Affleck on the cover, it seems that Olivia Wilde has stolen the inner pages.

Posing in a pair of sparkly Tabitha Simmons ‘Dee’ sandals from her Cruise 2013 collection, the crystal-embellished heels acted as a perfect accompaniment to her ostrich-feathered showgirl ensemble.

She Said ‘Dragons’

I feel like – with the potential exception of some high fashion Chinese baller – these shoes were made for me.

Emilio Pucci knows better than most: stilettos are out, insane resin heels are in. These 5-inchers feature a stack of dragons and flowers which lead to a large platform. The micro sole and ankle strap are both 100% leather calfskin. I can justify spending all of fashion week in these, right?

Dakota Fanning Trying on Shoes – Glamour March 2013

This shot of Dakota Fanning surrounded in some of next season’s most fabulous heels is my favourite in the entire March 2013 issue of Glamour (which the gorgeous actress covers).

Miss Fanning has a baby pink Christian Louboutin Pigalle spike heel on her right foot and a multicoloured leopard-print patent leather and a skinny blue stiletto heel by Sophia Webster S/S 2013 – a play on the Danas from this season – on her left. The pile of shoes she is stood over includes a pair of Walter Steiger Theo pumps in Nectarine and a stunning medium-sized embroidered stone box clutch from Marchesa. To see it all up close, take a look at the full shoot here.

She Said “Motif”

I often have days where, fashion-wise, all I want to do is concentrate on my shoes. These pumps have just sent me into a tizzy over the next of them.

Because a neon-lemon shoe is not enough for Mr. Nicholas Kirkwood, the shoe designer has added a multicoloured graffiti-inspired motif to the 5-inch silk-satin heels. Thanks to the 2-inch concealed platform and square toe, these bright beauties will be a breeze to jet around in, as well.
